A public repository mobilizing Computable Biomedical Knowledge artifacts

Why this repository?

Our Goal

Is to help publishing computable biomedical knowledge artifacts (CBKs) by mobilzing them which means making them findable, universally accessible, highly interoperable, and readily reusable.

What are CBKs?

Examples include predictive models, datasets, clinical decision support algorithms, or any other computable artifact that represent biomedical knowledge.

Your participation will

Contribute to an ecosystem where research and practice inform each other in a learning health system.

Should all CBKs be public?

Absolutely, no. However, there are benefits in making some CBKs public and sharing them widely.

What are the benefits of PCBKs?

Future research studies and quality improvement initiatives can reuse and build upon public CBKs (PCBKs). PCBKs support reproducible and transparent research where the results can be more verifiable and refutable. Another benefit is that researchers can receive recognition and credit from the artifacts that they create by making them public, not only from their traditional research outputs such as papers.

Specifics

Concept

Computable biomedical knowledge (CBK) is discovered through analytic and/or deliberative processes. CBKs can be represented using logic, as formal standards or mathematical approaches and are computable, interoperable, and can be used to immediately impact health.

Vision

Help mobilize health knowledge for the greater good, effectively and efficiently serving the learning and knowledge needs of all participants.

Intended users

We seek engagement of a wide range of healthcare professionals including quality improvement experts, researchers, data scientists, clinical decision makers, standards developers, policy makers, etc.

Join today to submit your CBKs!

Contribute to the ever expanding body of computable biomedical knowledge.
